8th grade dance was a success.  Let’s make 7th grade just as successful.  If you didn’t prepay, $10 at the door.  Pizza and drinks are included in price. Dress is casual Holiday fun, not formal.  AISD dress code enforced.  Should be a fun time!! 🎶

Shackelford JH PTA is 57 members away from the Honor Roll 250 Membership award.  Are you having a hard time figuring out what to buy a family member for the Holidays? Sign them up for a PTA membership.  Go to  JoinPTa.org and searching for O.D. Shackelford Jr. high.   You can have more then one membership per household. DEADLINE is Nov. 30th!!!

Thank you to all the Shack parents who provided all the delicious, pies & toppings for the PTA “Sweet as Pie” event last Friday!  Shack teachers, administrators & cafeteria staff enjoyed the treats and were so appreciative of all your kindness!

Apply For A Faculty Or High School Senior Scholarship Before Time Runs Out!
Faculty and High School Senior applications are due in three (3) weeks! Texas PTA offers $500 scholarships to eligible faculty members and $1,000 to eligible high school seniors. Applicants must be a member of their PTA. Be sure to check out the guidelines before submitting your application.
All applications are due Friday, December 1st by 5:00 pm.

Congratulations! Your PTA is one of only 583 that earned Texas PTA’s Head Start and Early Bird Achievement Awards. By recruiting 75% and then 100% of last year’s total membership before October, you have shown you understand the power of membership for O.D. Shackelford Junior High and Texas PTA.

Dear Parent or Student, Get your pictures in the yearbook!

The Yearbook Staff invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you’ve got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we’d like to see them. Our photographers can’t be everywhere.

Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have. Here is how you can submit photos online: • Go to: https://images.schoolannualonline.com/login • If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 408153596 • Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload. • Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information. • Click “Save Details”. It’s that easy!

Submit your photos today! The last day to submit photos is 03/31/2017.

The Yearbook Staff will review all photos and determine final yearbook content. We cannot guarantee that all submissions can be used in the book.

The Shackelford Junior High PTA Scholarship application is now available. Applicants must have attended Shackelford Junior High both their 7th and 8th grade years. Selection of the scholarship will be based on academic excellence, leadership, school and community involvement, work experience, recommendation, essay and completeness of the form.
